OK, I admit it, I’m a big fan of Winnie the Pooh.

I’ve always loved the stories, but I think reading Benjanin Hoff’s book the Tao of Pooh and Te of Piglet, I developed a new found appreciation for this creation of A A Milne.

“A way of life that keeps saying ‘Around the next corner, above the next step,’ works against the natural order of things and makes it so difficult to be happy and good.” ― Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh

The Tao of Pooh is a book that explains the principles of Taoism. The writer uses Winnie-the-Pooh and other characters from A.A. Milne’s well-known children books to exemplify those principles, such as contentment.

The literal meaning for “Tao” is “the way,” which leads to contentment like Pooh has in the book.

If you’ve not read Hoff’s superb book, then I would recommend it. I thought, however, I’d like to share some quotes from the Winnie the Pooh books which resonate with me at the moment.

Winnie the Pooh Quotes

A hug is always the right size. — Pooh

The things that make me different are the things that make me, me.” – Piglet

You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.”…
